Sunday

Good afternoon.  Seeing as I'm a little bored with how my blog looks, and since I haven't really done much with it in a while, I'm trying a new theme to see how I like it.  Besides finding a new look, I've been reading a couple of new blogs that I'd like to share, unless you've already found them, but they're pretty terrific, I think!

Kate Smudges
Kate is all about gardening, stenciling, knitting and writing.  Beautifully written, excellent pictures of her flowers and gardens, and just a wonderful blog to read.

Love, Elizabeth
Rufus Wainwright, stained glass, silly contests and heartfelt essays on life.  She also authors a second blog called Ridiculon.  Check it out!

Fabulon
Fabulon has become one of my favorite new blogs to read.  It makes me laugh out loud, as do the comments left by others!  It's extremely clever, it's fashion, it's design, it's culture, it's gay, it's vintage photos, it's intelligent,  it's biting, and it's certainly not for the faint of heart (there is occaisional nudity and references to the gay lifestyle, so if that's not your thing, don't go there).  Enter at your own risk, but remember, it's FABULOUS!  Fabolun will also lead to you many other wonderful blogs out there on the net which  can also be addicting.  Again, this may not be for everyone, but with my strange sense of humor and theatrics, it's a winner in my book.

I hope you all are having a great weekend.  I have some stuff brewing at school that should hopefully be coming to a head this week - nothing major, just a disgruntled student and her parents.  Not to worry.  Enjoy!

Better Living Through Chemistry

Good Morning!

First of all, a big thank you to Dave, Sachi, Molly, KnittyOtter, Devorah, Kerry, Jessica, Cookie, Sheri, Joe, Sprite, Diana, Susan and Ann.  Your comments and e-mails were very thoughtful and made me smile.  I've been Googling massage therapists to save you all some trouble. LOL.  ;-)

I'm doing pretty well this morning.  My lower back was quite stiff when I awoke, but I was able to get dressed and walk Lizzie with no real pain.  Just really stiff from the long sleep I had last night (and I do mean my back...).  Made breakfast and coffee, and I'm now in bed with the laptop, a cup of coffee and my knitting beside me.  Well, and Lizzie is beside me too.  *grin*  And I'll be putting an old Deanna Durbin film in the VCR: "Three Smart Girls Grow Up'.  I love that one!

Again, thank you for all the really nice comments and get-well wishes.  You all are really wonderful friends.

Saturday Sky

100_0356_1So, this is it.  My sky.  Very grey, and very wet.  I guess this means it's a day to get a little housework done, and I do have a couple of skeins of yarn that I've been meaning to dye for a swap, So, I guess I should get that done this weekend.  Hmmmm.....

School starts in a couple of weeks, and there has been a little change in my schedule.  I will be getting 4 elementary classes added to cover some staffing changes - two mornings a week.  Not that I can't do it, cause I have in the past and, not to toot my own horn, but I'm really good teaching the little ones, but they just take up so much energy!  Oy!  But, it will be fun, and it will also give me contact with the elementary school staff, and they are a wonderful bunch of people who are always willing to help with big projects (ie. backstage help for the musical that I direct every spring.  The more, the merrier, I always say....).  So, it will work to my advangtage.

That's it for now.  The new home here at Typepad is really nice.  I'm liking it a lot, and thanks to those of you who have stopped by to say hello, and thanks again to Dave for the PSA on his blog.  Knitters ARE the best!  Have a great day!

Oy....

LizzyheadshotSo, it's been quite an interesting day.  I've been trying for HOURS to find my old blog, to no avail.  BUT, I have had fun starting to put together the new blog here.  I've added some of my blog favorites, and spent quite a while knocking aroung the new Type Pad home.  It's very nice here.  I'm liking it quite a bit so far.  Much easier to navigate.  And speaking of nice: a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Dave Daniels for getting the word out on my new blogging address, since I can't get to my old blog to let you all know.  He's a wonderful guy, and you need to go to his store and buy yarn from this talented guy!  I mean right now, at this very minute.  Don't just sit there staring at the screen, GO!!!!  Buy yarn!!!!!

And just cause I wanted to post a pic and see how much easier it is here, here's my Lizzie and my nephew Ryan.  I love this pic!  Maybe next time I'll try to do a little bit bigger one, this is still all new.  hehehehe.....
