You Belong in 1953
You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!

Sunday

Good afternoon.  Seeing as I'm a little bored with how my blog looks, and since I haven't really done much with it in a while, I'm trying a new theme to see how I like it.  Besides finding a new look, I've been reading a couple of new blogs that I'd like to share, unless you've already found them, but they're pretty terrific, I think!

Kate Smudges
Kate is all about gardening, stenciling, knitting and writing.  Beautifully written, excellent pictures of her flowers and gardens, and just a wonderful blog to read.

Love, Elizabeth
Rufus Wainwright, stained glass, silly contests and heartfelt essays on life.  She also authors a second blog called Ridiculon.  Check it out!

Fabulon
Fabulon has become one of my favorite new blogs to read.  It makes me laugh out loud, as do the comments left by others!  It's extremely clever, it's fashion, it's design, it's culture, it's gay, it's vintage photos, it's intelligent,  it's biting, and it's certainly not for the faint of heart (there is occaisional nudity and references to the gay lifestyle, so if that's not your thing, don't go there).  Enter at your own risk, but remember, it's FABULOUS!  Fabolun will also lead to you many other wonderful blogs out there on the net which  can also be addicting.  Again, this may not be for everyone, but with my strange sense of humor and theatrics, it's a winner in my book.

I hope you all are having a great weekend.  I have some stuff brewing at school that should hopefully be coming to a head this week - nothing major, just a disgruntled student and her parents.  Not to worry.  Enjoy!

SOOOO not surprised...

Your Brain is Purple
Of all the brain types, yours is the most idealistic. You tend to think wild, amazing thoughts. Your dreams and fantasies are intense. Your thoughts are creative, inventive, and without boundaries. You tend to spend a lot of time thinking of fictional people and places - or a very different life for yourself.

A Little Humor....

If adult humor offends you, PLEASE do not read this post!!!

My friend Maggie sent this to me.  It made me chuckle....

And Italian man, a French man, and a Gay man were chatting about thier sex lives.

The Italian man said "Last week my wife and I had great sex.  I rubbed her body all over with olive oil, we made passionate love, and she screamed for five full minutes at the end."

The French man boasted, "Last week when my wife and I had sex, I rubbed butter all over her body.  We made passionate love, and she screamed for fifteen minutes."

The Gay man said, "Well, last week my boyfriend and I also had sex.  I rubber massage oil all over his body.  We made love, and he screamed for over six hours."

The other two were stunned!  The French man asked "What could you have possibly done to make your boyfriend scream for six hours???"

The Gay man said, "I wiped my hands on the bedspread."

I hope you all had a great Monday.  Oh, and Saffron, there has been a little knitting going on here, and there may be a pic before the end of the week.  ;-)

I'm Midnight....

You Are Midnight
You are more than a little eccentric, and you're apt to keep very unusual habits. Whether you're a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence - you like to experiment with your lifestyle. Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world and your place in it. You enjoy staying home, but that doesn't mean you're a hermit. You also appreciate quality time with family and close friends.
What Time Of Day Are You?

I saw this on Roxie's blog.  Of course I had to do it....

I'm a pinky...

I saw this on Sara's blog, so of course I had to do it....

You Are a Pinky
You are fiercely independent, and possibly downright weird. A great communicator, you can get along with almost anyone. You are kind and sympathetic. You support all your friends - and love them for who they are. You get along well with: The Ring Finger Stay away from: The Thumb

Damn....

Because I like reading Lilith's blog, and since she tagged me, I'll play....

The rules:

Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog. Here are my facts:

1. I'm not a big tv watcher, but I always find something on PBS, Turner Classic Movies, BBC America or Bravo that will get my interest.

2.  I have 5 siblings, all male.  I know exactly what you're thinking - "Your poor Mother!".  If I had a nickel for every time I heard that phrase.....

3.  Although all of my brothers played an instrument in high school, I am the only one who persued it as a career (in teaching), or has done anything in theatre.

4.  At last count, I have been part of 45 plays, musicals or operas, either as an actor, director, music director or backstage work: building costumes, props or sets.

5.  My favorite playwrites are Christopher Durang, Noel Coward and David Ives, and I have been fortunate to have performed in plays by each.

6.  I think LEGOS is one of the most amazing inventions.  Ever....

7.   I can't imagine  a day without laughter.  All of my close friends have amazing senses of humor, and the bloggers I read and have contact with are very clever, talented and funny.  It's not only healthy, it's the LAW...

7a.  I have seen all of Deanna Durbin's films.  Several times.  Google her - it will do you good.

Durbin

There you are, my 7 things.  I'm not going to tag anyone, but if you feel like playing, go right ahead and have yourself a great time.  And stop by and see Lilith sometime.  She's a good girl, she is...  *wink*

Long week...

It's Friday, payday, no school next week because of Spring break (and a Nor'easter is being predicted by the weater forcasters for Sunday and Monday.  Bitches.), I've had a delicious nap in the recliner tonight (yummy), I've done a little knitting on a scarf that I started eons ago (actually, it was for a Christmas gift for LAST Christmas.  This is why I don't knit gifts very often.) and I'm looking forward to some down time and a couple of little day trips next week.

A highlight of this past week was going to my first knitting group.  Through a friend, I found a group of LGBT knitters in a local metropolitan area.  Awesome group.  Beginners, experienced knitters, lots of info on yarn stores in the area, patterns being shared left and right, and good conversation and acceptance.  A good thing.  A very good thing.  And a little motivation to work on that scarf again.

Oh, and a little something for a laugh:

Enjoy your evening!

Yeah...

It's a little swatch.  When I dropped off the Project Linus blankets last Saturday, I picked up the book Victorian Lace Today by Jane Sowerby.  What a beautiful book!  The pics are absolutely beautiful, and the projects are just stunning!  So stunning that I had to do a little swatch tonight just to see if I could actually even attempt to knit something even remotely lace-like.  Here it is:

It's not much, just a swatch.  I'm not making any promises that it will evolve into a full fledged lace scarf or anything...  The yarn is Dave's Laceweight, and the stitch is called faggoting.  Go figure...
