Cabin Cove knit-a-long

Ok, so, with all the working out I've been doing the last several weeks, there hasn't been a whole lot of knitting going on, but since today is the due date for the Shut Up & Knit Your Cabin Cove Knit-a-Long, I present this for your viewing pleasure:

And neither photo gets the color right - it's called Lime-aid, and it's one of Dave's knitting worsted colorways.  I think it came out really cute, but I think it needs a little froo-froo something or other added onto the side or top.  Oh yeah, and in case you haven't noticed, it's not knitted, it's crocheted (yeah, I can do that, too).  But I was pressed for time and it was good to get my hooks out and see if I had forgotten how to do it - and nope, I hadn't.  So, that's my entry in the SUKYCC KAL.   Have a great evening!!!

Had to get started...

So, Saturday was a very grey, very cold day, and deciding to stay in and have a lazy day, I did some laundry, did some dusting and vacuuming, and cast on a hat for the Dave-a-Long.  Yeah, it's done on a circular needle (my first!), and includes some cables and ribs, which can be seen when it's stretched a little bit (which you can see a little later...):

It amazes me how different the yarn looks with a flash as opposed to without.  It's a little more buttery than gold:
